Cee Cee walked up to me (slowly and cautiously) in a vacant well-landscaped lot in a cold November rain. I was visiting from out of state when I saw her. I left her some food (I always carry a small animal rescue kit with me becuz the lost ones literally walk up to me), I tried to contact the local shelter-- THANK GOD they were closed that day -- they would have killed her. I contacted Alley Cat Allies when I returned home (120 miles down the line) - they sent me contact info for local TNR folks- Cee Cee AND the 17!
other cats living on that vacant lot were all TNR'd-- Cee Cee eventually came home to live with me.
This is one of the most inspiring rescue stories I've ever read, and fate stepped in to save CeeCee in the form of ACE, her adoptive mom. She is a beautiful tortie girl, and one very lucky cat. CeeCee also appears in the Life With a Tortoiseshell Cat Show and Tell Gallery, as do all of the other Cats of the Week for November, 2010.
