- 1). Navigate to the "Start" menu, then click "All Programs," "Accessories," then "Remote Desktop Connection" to open the Remote Desktop Connection.
- 2). Click the "Options" button from the "General" tab and then type in the computer name or IP address and your user name from the Logon Settings field.
- 3). Check the "Allow me to save credentials" box and then click "Save As."
- 4). Select a name and location for the Remote Desktop file and then click "Save."
- 5). Double-click the file, type in your password and click "OK." Whenever you use this connection file in the future, you won't have to enter any information, since it is all saved for you.
