Business & Finance Social Media

Your Business and Social Media

The success of your business may hinge on social media sites.
As an entrepreneur or a small business owner, using social media sites can almost put you in the same playing field as the big boys.
Big businesses know that.
Why do you think they use the sites as well? One cue we can learn from the big boys: go where the people are.
By people I am referring to customers or potential customers.
We all know social media sites are the craze for businesses, entrepreneurs, and the people wanting to vent or follow celebrities.
There are drawbacks even if you are using social media for business.
It can become very addicting.
You spend way too much time on your social media sites and not enough time paying attention to your business website.
The media sites are becoming over saturated with businesses creating followings.
It takes time to build a following and a busy entrepreneur may not have the time to allocate.
As mentioned earlier correct use of social sites can even out the playing field for the small business owner and entrepreneur and put you at a close enough level to compete with a much larger business with deeper pockets.
You may have to work a little harder, be a little more creative, and have some more patience, but it can pan out for you.
The sites can help your business become more visible and therefore affect your bottom line (increased profits).
Here are a few tips to help you get started and help your business become more visible.
Decide what medium you want to use.
That's just as important as your content.
If you are a good writer then use a site that caters to that medium or if you enjoy using video then use a site that caters to video or audio, etc.
Do your homework.
Visit similar businesses and see what they are doing.
Take notes and figure out what makes yours different.
Use the differences to build your branding strategy.
Always have something to say.
And remember what you say should always add value.
Adding value shows you care and people tend to do business with people that care about them because it makes them feel good.
Good luck, stay focused, and add value.
