- 1). Find the programming codes for the device you want to sync with your Comcast remote. These codes are five-digits long and are found in the back of the user's guide that came with your remote. They are sorted by type of device and manufacturer, not by model. If you do not have a copy of your users guide, download one from Comcast's website.
- 2). Turn on the device that you are syncing with your remote. If the device plays media, insert a disc or tape to test the functions of the remote. Leave other devices turned off during this time.
- 3). Push one of the device keys at the top of the remote that corresponds to the type of device you are programming. If there is no button for your device, press the "Aux" button. Press and hold the "Setup" button until the device button you pressed blinks twice, then release it.
- 4). Use the number pad on the remote to enter the first code on the list for your device. The device button you pressed will blink twice if the code was recognized.
- 5). Point the remote at the device and press the "Power" button. If it turns off, press the button again to turn it back on. Press the other buttons on the remote to test them, including volume and playback controls. If one or more of the buttons do not work, repeat the process using the next code on the list until you find one that works.
