- 1). Pour the sand into the plastic bag. Add water until moist, but not wet.
- 2). Add the purslane seeds to the plastic bag and seal. Shake to mix. Place in the refrigerator for two weeks.
- 3). Clear the area you plan to plant your purslane. Remove any weeds, rocks and roots.
- 4). Pour the compost onto the ground and lightly rake it in. Water thoroughly.
- 5). Remove the plastic bag from the refrigerator. Shake well, and then sprinkle the seed/sand mixture over the compost.
- 6). Water gently, using a watering can or a garden hose shower attachment. Continue to water daily. The seeds will germinate, and plants begin to grow within one to three weeks after sowing. After sprouting, only water when the soil surface is dry.
