- 1). Create a list of police districts in which the person may have been arrested.
- 2). Call information to get non-emergency phone numbers for each police district on the list.
- 3). Call each district and give them the person's name, date of birth, arrest date and any other pertinent information.
- 4). Call back at a later time if the police do not have a record of the arrestee. If the arrest was recent, police may not have entered them into the system yet.
- 1). Call information and ask for Police Central Booking. A large city may have too many police districts to call each one, and central booking will be able to tell you which district arrested your friend or family member.
- 2). Tell central booking that you are looking for someone that may have been arrested. Give them their full name, date of birth, date of arrest and any other pertinant information.
- 3). If the arrestee was not listed in the system and the arrest was recent, call back at a later time.
- 4). Call the police district that made the arrest, if central booking had the information. The police district have more information about the arrest and can give instructions for next steps.
