Jensen Ackles to Star in Horror Movie
According to Cinema Blend and numerous other sources, Jensen Ackles (ex-Eric Brady) will star in the horror movie entitled My Bloody Valentine 3-D. The movie is a remake of the 1981 horror classic. Jensen stars as Tom Hanniger, who caused an coal mining accident ten years ago which resulted in the deaths of five people. The lone survivor, Harry Warden, went into a permanent coma and woke up one year later on Valentine’s Day.
Harry went on a killing spree, murdering twenty-two people before being killed himself. Tom returns to his town of Harmony on Valentine’s Day still haunted by the deaths he caused. He struggles to make amends with his past while a killer’s on the loose.
DAYS fans fondly remember Jensen Ackles as Eric Brady, Sami’s twin brother. Jensen portrayed Eric from 1997 until July 31, 2000 and garnered three Daytime Emmy nominations in 1998, 1999, and 2000 for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series. He won a Soap Opera Digest Award in 1998 for Outstanding Male Newcomer. Jensen now stars on CB’s Supernatural, where he has portrayed Dean Winchester since 2005. He has also starred on \Smallville, Dawson’s Creek, and Dark Angel since his departure from DAYS.
My Bloody Valentine is currently filming and is scheduled to be released in theaters on Friday, January 16, 2009. The movie is directed by Patrick Lussier and also stars Jaime King and Kerr Smith. Although many fans still miss Jensen Ackles as Eric Brady, heartfelt congratulations go out to him on his successful television and movie career.
