In recent months I have seen a great increase in negative advertising.
Do a Google search on almost any major MLM and you will see AdSense ads like this..
..
"forget X, I make $10K a month with Y" or "I failed with X but I'm doing great with Y.
" Even worse is a "warning" or what you must know about company X before you join.
This is often an ad for a report that claims network marketers have been "lied" to and that their upline is somehow withholding information that could help them, which really is nonsense in my opinion.
I really find these ads unprofessional.
I think these have become so popular because many people go on the internet to search a particular company if they are considering joining, and so these ads get lots of exposure.
It's using fear and misinformation to try and attract people, and even a lack mentality.
There are thousands of people all the time searching for ways to make money at home.
We aren't going to run out of people.
So in my view these ads are unnecessary too.
I don't think we need to attack a competitor to try and make a sale.
Often these ads are for the one up or two up programs which also claim they aren't MLM.
Yet as with any network marketing company, they must make sales and recruit.
The only difference is they don't have downline of many levels.
When we are using attraction marketing techniques a negative ad isn't necessarily going to draw the kind of person we are looking for.
