- 1). Remove the glass lampshade carefully from the base of the lamp. Place it on some towels.
- 2). Spray an old cotton t-shirt with glass cleaner. Wipe the lampshade with the moistened cloth to clean.
- 3). Replace the lampshade on the base.
- 1). Cut off the bristles of a horsehair paintbrush at an angle, approximately 1/2 inch from the handle. Remove the lampshade from the base and take it outdoors. Brush the shade with the paintbrush in a downward motion to remove any loose dust or dirt.
- 2). Fill a clean bathtub approximately 1/3 full with lukewarm water. Add 1/4 cup of mild liquid soap, and agitate the water with your hands to form suds.
- 3). Place the lampshade on its side in the water. Twirl it around so the soapy water makes contact with the entire surface area. Wipe the outside of the shade with a soft cloth saturated in the soapy water.
- 4). Set the lampshade aside. Allow the soapy water to drain from the bathtub and refill it with clean, lukewarm water. Place the lampshade in the water on its side and twirl it around to rinse.
- 5). Dry the lampshade with a hairdryer set on medium heat.
