- 1). Lay a clean, dry rag or paper towel over the urine. Push down to absorb as much cat urine as possible. Remove the rag or paper towel.
- 2). In a bucket or spray bottle, combine equal parts warm water and vinegar.
- 3). Spray or dip a soft cloth in the vinegar mixture and wring lightly. Rub the solution directly on the area where the cat urinated. Continue cleaning until the urine is removed.
- 4). Dampen a soft cloth with water. Wipe the rag on the wood surface to remove the vinegar residue.
- 5). Dry the wood using a towel to prevent water spotting.
- 6). Sprinkle a small amount of baking soda over the area if the smell persists. Rub the baking soda into the wood using a soft, damp cloth. Repeat Steps 3 through 5.
