- 1). Mix your concrete stain in the bucket, in a 1-to-1 ratio with water. Fill the sprayer from the bucket.
- 2). Spray the floor with the above mixture as you walk slowly from one side to the other. Have your partner follow you, using the broom to scrub the stain into the concrete. When you reach the far edge of the concrete, go back over the area your partner scrubbed to erase the broom tracks.
- 3). Drop down a few feet and move side to side again, with your "broom mate" following, then backtrack to erase the broom marks. Repeat until you've finished the entire floor.
- 4). Let the floor dry according to the stain manufacturer's directions, then thoroughly mop the floor with a mixture of baking soda and water to neutralize the acid reaction. One person should mop while the other sucks up all the dirty water with the wet vac. Make sure neither of you step on any unneutralized areas, or you could leave footprints in the stain.
- 5). Wash the floor a second time using the same method. Let the floor dry completely, and don't be alarmed if it starts to look a little chalky. You'll need to dry the the floor completely before you can finish, so you might want to put fans around to help. Either way, leave it alone overnight.
- 6). Pour some sealer into your paint tray and use the long-handled roller to spread it all over the floor. Allow it to dry according to the manufacturer's timetable, then apply a second coat. Let that dry completely before you move furniture back into the room.
