How Do I Clean a Home Water Dispenser?

    • 1). Unplug the electrical cord from the power source and remove the empty water bottle from the dispenser.

    • 2). Drain any remaining water and remove the baffle, if there is one. Boil 2 to 3 cups of water in a pot on the stove or in the microwave using a microwave safe bowl.

    • 3). Fill the reservoir with the boiling water, using caution not to spill the water to prevent burning your skin. You may wish to use a funnel for this step.

    • 4). Use a scrub brush to clean the reservoir and the baffle. Set the baffle upside down in the reservoir.

    • 5). Drain the water through the spigot.

    • 6). Wipe down the spigots, the body of the reservoir and the handles with a clean, damp cloth.

    • 7). Drain all water and rinse out the baffle and the top to the reservoir. Dry the baffle and reservoir top and replace back on the unit.

    • 8). Place a full bottle of water on top of the dispenser. Plug the unit back in to the electrical source.
