- 1). Turn off all the burners on the Kenmore flat top stove and allow the surface to cool thoroughly. If you attempt to clean the Kenmore stove while it is still warm, you could burn yourself. You could also damage, or even crack, the cooking surface if you use a cleaning solution on the hot stove.
- 2). Spray the flat stop stove with a cleaning solution designed for use on smooth cooking surfaces. Let the cleaning solution sit for the amount of time specified on the package, then clean the excess with a damp cloth.
- 3). Repeat the cleaning process for stubborn stains. Continue to apply the cleaning solution until you have removed the food spill or stain. If the stain is already baked in, you may need to scrape it off carefully with a razor blade. Just hold the blade at a 45 degree angle and carefully scrape away the spilled food or other debris.
- 4). Polish the cooking surface using a cleaner designed for flat top stoves. Polishing the stove on a regular basis helps the cook top repel spills and maintain its good looks.
