How to Remove Grass Stains From the Knees of Trousers

    • 1). Apply a heavy-duty liquid detergent to the stain. Spot scrub the stain with a soft-bristled brush for clothing and rinse thoroughly.

    • 2). Soak the stained trousers in a one-half dilution of fabric-safe bleach alternative for 24 hours. Wash the trousers according to the label directions.

    • 3). Inspect the grass stain after the wash. You may need to let the trousers air dry to verify if the stain is gone. Do not machine dry the trousers to prevent setting in the stain.

    • 4). Treat the stain with a digestive enzyme product made into paste with several drops of water. Apply the paste over the entire stain and let it sit for 60 minutes. Wash the trousers according to the label instructions.

    • 5). Inspect the grass stain to verify it is gone. If the stain persists, blot isopropyl alcohol onto the stained area. Let the alcohol dry completely and wash according to the label instructions.

    • 6). Repeat these steps if the stain persists.
