- 1). Apply an ice pack to the area, so the wax hardens. Place a thin cloth between the wood surface and the ice pack. You do not want to damage the wood with the condensation from the ice pack.
- 2). Use the edge of a credit card, plastic spatula or plastic putty knife to scrape off as much of the wax as possible. Do not use metal or anything with a sharp edge because it can damage the wood surface.
- 3). If there is any wax left on the surface, dampen a rag with soapy water and wipe the surface to remove the rest of the candle wax. Treat the surface with furniture polish.
