How to Get Rid of Stale Cigarette Smoke

    • 1). Open the windows to allow fresh air to circulate throughout the room.

    • 2). Sprinkle baking soda on all fabric and carpet in the room. Let sit for an hour, then vacuum well.

    • 3). Pour a small amount of vinegar in each bowl and place in several locations in the room. Vinegar will absorb the cigarette smell. You can also use charcoal for the same purpose. Place a few pieces of charcoal in several bowls and place around the room. Leave the bowls of vinegar or charcoal out overnight.

    • 4). Spray fabric refresher on upholstery, drapes and carpet.

    • 5). Burn scented candles to eliminate any residual cigarette odor.
