Remember that Fred Flintstone costume you wore last year.
I saw your buddies laughing at you.
Or how about the year before when you were Sonny Bono and you wore that ridiculous wig.

Every year around Halloween, after I have told my husband what costume he is going to be wearing, he will ask me who came up with this costume party idea.
So one year I did a little checking and it seems they have been around for generations.
Remember Romeo and Juliet and the Masquerade Ball? It seems dressing up in make believe costumes has always been popular.
I also read where costume parties really took off in the United States in the late 1970's when costume prices became so cheap.
So this is not something new.
Men, I know you do not want to hear this, but me and my girl friends love dressing up for a Halloween party, or for any costume party.
We can be whoever we want to be for one night.
We can pick whatever outrageous costume we want.
We can reveal as much or as little flesh as we want and get away with it.
I know the only reason men like to go to these parties is to see what the women are wearing.
So let your wife or girl friend have some fun.
Play like you really want to do this, ok.
So, let's get back to your Julius Caesar costume.
You are really going to like this costume.
Most of the Roman costumes are very comfortable and I know that is important to you.
Another big plus for this costume is you can get a good one for less than fifty dollars.
And it is a costume your wife will let you wear again next year when she wants to be a Greek goddess.
Caesar ruled the Roman Empire over two thousand years ago and he is still very popular.
So this is not some cartoon character you are dressing up to be.
On Halloween night, when you put the costume and laurel wreath on, maybe, just maybe, greatness will overcome you.
And if it doesn't, go ahead and fake it.
It will make your significant other very happy.
