How to Write a Quit Smoking Self-Hypnosis Script

This article assumes you know how to get into a trance using self-hypnosis.
If you do not, look up how to do an "induction" using self-hypnosis.
This article helps you to quit smoking by teaching you how to write a self-hypnosis script to quell the addiction.
It is important to know how because simply telling yourself to stop smoking works about as well as someone else telling you.
Hypnosis is a powerful tool for getting into your unconscious mind and make lasting changes, so it important to use it properly.
The first thing you need to do is establish your goals and the reason for your goals.
Perhaps you want to live a long healthy life? Perhaps you want to be healthier right now? Perhaps you want to get rid of the stigma people associate with smoking? Maybe you just want to be able to take a deep breath.
One of the reasons many people fail to quit smoking is because of a lack of motivation.
People see it as being cool, they use it to pass the time or to start conversations and they just can't see the positives of not smoking.
Before you quit, you need to work out WHY you are quitting.
The second thing you need to do is create a list of the obstacles getting in your way of quitting.
These obstacles are the pressures you have that cause you to quit.
For example, your partner or your friends smoke and not smoking around them is difficult.
Perhaps you feel you need a cigarette to relax and you will feel stressed without one.
Create a complete and extensive list.
The third thing you need to do is write the exact opposite of each of you obstacles, justified by your motivation.
You frame the positive by using 'willpower', 'confidence' and 'strength' as the words that describe your ability to overcome the opposite.
For example you might write one of these: · I am strong enough to relax from stress without a cigarette because I want to be a healthy person · I have enough willpower to avoid smoking when people around me are, because I respect my body and my health · Because I want to stop smelling like an ash-tray I am confident enough to say no when someone offers me a smoke Now it is time to write your script.
Start the script with positive self talk.
Tell yourself that you are confident enough to be a "non-smoker".
Use the positive term "non-smoker" rather than using the negative phrasing of 'quitting'.
For the next part of the script use the opposite statement you wrote for you obstacles.
After each one, tell yourself how good you feel about being able to take control of this part of your life.
Lastly visualize how every time you overcome one of your obstacles it slowly contributes to your end goal.
See how each time you conquer the obstacle you are one step closer to being that happier, healthier person who is a non-smoker.
Visualize the process of gradually getting healthier and end each visualization with positive self talk.
Say something like "I can achieve this because I am a strong willed person who respects their body".
Close the script with an affirmation that leaving the trance will mean you become this new strong willed person.
"when I open my eyes I will be that confident, positive person who is going to achieve my goal of becoming a non-smoker".
The road to quitting smoking is long and slow.
Once you start the process of quitting, every day becomes work.
This is why you must use self-hypnosis regularly.
What this guide does is teach you how to motivate yourself to keep going.
Remember to top up this motivation to help fight the addiction.
