- 1). Pre-wash your flat sheets. Iron well after washing before making your duvet cover.
- 2). Cut 6 inches off the bottom of one queen flat sheet. Serge, zig zag stitch or use pinking shears to finish this edge.
- 3). Place the two sheets' right sides together, lining up the bottom of each sheet. Stitch around both sides and the bottom of the duvet cover.
- 4). Sew ribbon or twill tape ties to the inner bottom corner of your queen duvet cover. Stitch ties to the bottom corners of your comforter as well. This will keep your comforter from moving around in the duvet cover.
- 5). Attach hook and loop tape or sew in snaps on to your duvet cover. Place the snaps or hook and loop on the flap and the corresponding front of the duvet cover. You will use the finished top hems of each sheet for the top edge of your queen duvet cover. You can also opt for buttons and buttonholes if you prefer for a more finished look.
