- 1). Log into your WordPress account.
- 2). Click Posts on the left-hand side.
- 3). Click Post Tags.
- 4). Hover your mouse over the tag you want to edit to reveal the edit link. Click Edit.
- 5). Change the name of the tag. Updating the name will automatically update the tag name across all posts with that tag.
- 6). Change the tag's slug. A slug is what represents a tag in a URL; it can contain dashes, but no spaces. For example, to bring up all posts tagged with "animals" on yourdomain.com, your tag slug URL would be yourdomain.com/tags/animals.
- 7). Enter or change the tag's description. A description is helpful if you have many tags or authors and want to leave clear instructions as to what a tag means. Descriptions are not usually displayed in a blog layout, though some templates make them visible.
- 8). Click "Update."
- 1). Log into your WordPress account.
- 2). Click Posts in the menu on the left.
- 3). Click the title of the post you want to edit.
- 4). Type a tag in the Post Tags box and click "Add" to add a new tag to the post.
- 5). Click the small "x" next to an existing tag to remove it from the post.
- 6). Click "Update" to save your changes.
