What style do you love? How do you decorate your home? Are you eclectic or country? Shabby or chic? Whatever your style may be, make it yours alone.
Your own personal style.
This can be done easily, stress free and INEXPENSIVELY! That last word will get your husband's attention, because as we all know, decorating your home can be very expensive.
So, whether you live in a one room flat or a mansion or something in between, if you try to buy really expensive things, you may worry about upkeep.
Rather than to have to always think about having to be extra careful with your things, why not chose easy to care for furnishings? Consider covering your floors with small throw rugs.
These can be easily washed at home in your clothes washer when needed.
They are not terribly expensive and come in many lovely styles and colors.
You may also want to check out the indoor/outdoor rugs that the big box stores are stocking.
Many of them come in solid colors or patterns and are very easy to clean.
They don't hold stains and you can just take them out to your yard and hose them down with a garden hose.
If you are handy with a sewing machine, you can easily sew up some lovely slipcovers for your sofa or chairs.
There are some great patterns available in the fabric stores.
Have no fear, if you are sewing challenged, there are some wonderful slipcovers available.
Most are made from fabrics that are easy care, child and pet friendly, washable.
That makes decorating easy.
Also, you can easily change the colors in your rooms by just changing the slipcovers when you get tired of the color and need a new look.
Much cheaper than buying a new sofa or chair.
Many of us love painted furniture.
Sometimes the more chips, the better.
You may have a piece of furniture that you truly love--if so, try building a room setting around it.
Painted furniture can be easy upkeep.
Flaky, chipped furniture only gets better with time.
Children and dogs can't really hurt it.
If you love to recall past memories, you may want to decorate your walls or book shelves with vintage magazine advertising.
Look for ads that recall memories, maybe of your childhood.
Perhaps products that you used as a child.
Look for different sized ads and then find unusual frames for them.
Talk about visual impact on your walls! Not boring!! You can mix and match if you collect a few favorite things, but remember that it is not necessary to decorate with everything you own.
You don't want a cluttered look, so put some accessories aside and change with the seasons to freshen your rooms.
Make your rooms reflect your personality--not so much what you see in a magazine.
Then your home will be truly You!
