New York City is a cultural hub not only for the Unites States but the entire world. People from all over come to the area for its historical sites, critically acclaimed restaurants and iconic attractions. During the warmer months of the year, New York City has even more to offer with its wide variety of outdoor activities. - Battery Park is located in the Lower Manhattan neighborhood and sits right on the shore of the Upper Bay. From the park people can take boats to bring them to such New York attractions as Ellis Island and Liberty Island, home to the Statue of Liberty. Battery Park was created when the old ship piers started to deteriorate and it became 92 acres of parks, trails, conservatories and public art displays.
Each week Battery Park has a variety of activities for kids and adults. The Real World, for example, is a series of bronze sculptures featuring real life in a whimsical fashion that create public interaction.
