The Xbox 360 is certainly one of the most popular gaming machines ever created.
Of course even it is susceptible to error from time to time.
One of these errors is the RROD of Red Rings of Death.
However, you will soon learn how to correct this problem and not have to worry any more.
Overheating in the case causes the Red Rings to appear.
The overheating causes the motherboard to have trouble connecting to the HANA/ANA chip or video scaler chip.
You will now have to repair the aforementioned disconnection and figure out what was causing the heating in the first place.
If you choose not to resolve the overheating problem it will resurface in only a few days.
However, if you no nothing about the internals of the system I would recommend getting a guide.
It would be extremely beneficial and would take you through the process in simple steps and, best of all, cost less than a used game.

1. Shut off all power and disconnect the game system.
   
2. Open the Case.
   
3. Remove DVD (digital versatile disc) and HDD (hard disk drive)
4. Locate Video Scaler Chip and remove
5. Check connector Pins
6. Clean pins by using a soft eraser
7. Make sure there aren't any marks left on pins
8. Align and place back into position
9. Reinstall Casing
10. Test

However, you may find it a bit difficult to locate the exact position of the Video Scaler Chip.
You do not need and special tools for this job - pliers and a screwdriver will do.
This procedure also corrects the XBOX e74 Problem.
