Spring is here, a new season and new growth.
Why not a "new you?" Do you feel like your "get up and go" got up and left? Do you want a "healthier" lifestyle but just don't know what kind of healthy choices to make? If you answered yes, then I've got some great news for you! I just learned some exciting news this weekend.
I attended a fantastic seminar on natural health and Dr.
Vanden Heuvel shared an exciting piece of information that just hit me right upside the head! I learned lots of great things, but two things he mentioned just gave me an "Aha" moment.
1.
It only takes 90 days to replace 100% of the red blood cells in your body.
2.
There's not one bone in your body that is over 7 years old! I found that so fascinating because that means our bodies are always regenerating themselves.
So it's never too late to improve your health! Think about it, when you get a cut, bruise or burn, usually without any intervention it gets better.
Just think what the body could do if you actually started to feed it right, exercise it a little and de-stress a little! You might actually start to feel better, have less disease and live longer.
There is so much information out there, it is hard knowing just where to start.
The best place is to start is by taking one step at a time.
Don't try to do an extreme health makeover in one week.
It will just be overwhelming and you'll feel defeated.
Just pick one or two areas that you feel you could be successful in and start there.
Here is just a small sampling of suggestions: Eat some type of fresh vegetables and fruit everyday Eat a nourishing breakfast Cook more and eat less packaged/processed food Eat less fast food for lunch, make healthy sandwiches on Sunday night & freeze them Switch from white rice to brown rice, white bread to whole grain type bread Drink more water Take a walk everyday (or as many days as you can) Join a class that involves some type of movement, exercise, dancing, karate, yoga, golf Take a 5 minute break during the day and do some deep breathing using your diaphragm Make time for yourself at least once a week to do something you enjoy.
Read a motivational book and think positive (what you think is what you become) Be patient, it takes 21 days to create a habit.
Feel good about your decision to improve your health.
Once the changes become part of your lifestyle, pick another area to work on.
Improving your physical, mental and spiritual health should become a journey.
Keep improving, learning and growing.
You know what they say ..
..
you're either green and growing or ripe and rotten!
