They all work within the realm of how Zynga designed Farmville, so you shouldn’t get in trouble for using them.
The Hay Bale Trick

If you want to have your farmer harvest, plow, and plant faster, the easiest way to do that is to keep him from moving. It seems counter intuitive, but if you keep your farmer from reaching his crops, you can actually harvest faster that way.

The hay bale trick works very simply. Surround your farmer with objects so that he is unable to move. It takes only four to surround the farmer so that they can’t move. You can also use trees, fences, or just about any other obstacle you can think of.

Since your farmer can’t move, you don’t have to wait for him to walk between plots of land to do actions. The game will just do the actions automatically without moving your character.

The reason this works is that the game is actually designed to work this way. Imagine if you accidentally moved your farmer to the side of the screen and fenced him in by accident. Then when you try to do something with your crops, the game would break and it would not be much fun until you figure out that your farmer is stuck.

The developers just simplified the system by making you able to farm even if you can’t reach the crops themselves.
