- 1). Mix 10 g of citric acid and 200 ml of water, or mix 100 ml of white vinegar with 200 ml of cold water. Turn off the sterilizer, open the cover to the water compartment and pour out any residual water. Put your chosen mixture inside.
- 2). Turn the sterilizer on, with the cover open, for several minutes. Turn the sterilizer off again, and allow the mixture to sit inside for at least 30 minutes.
- 3). Remove the mixture from the machine. Use a cloth to wipe any residue in the sterilizer's basin or near its heating coils. Fill the water basin with clean, cold water. Close the cover and turn it on. Let it run empty through a full sterilizing wash.
- 4). Turn it off, open the cover and remove any remaining water. Refill the basin with cold water. Close the cover and turn it on a final time. The mixture should have neutralized and removed any lime deposits inside your machine.
