Guide Review - Jay Electronica - "The Ghost of Christopher Wallace"
Diddy has had a long streak of perfectly ruining other people's songs with his signature trash-talking since the 90s and he's shown no signs of slowing down.
It probably amused the Bad Boy producer to reduce a song as remarkable as Jay Electronica's "Ghost of Christopher Wallace" to a comedy routine. Despite Diddy's trash talking, "Ghost of Christopher Wallace" displays Jay's passion for hip-hop. The song's premise revolves around Jay Elect's desire to return hip-hop to its heyday -- whatever that means these days. Jay spends about two minutes invoking the spirit of Christopher Wallace, citing the late great MC's lyrics from "I Love The Dough" to boot: "Tryin' to make a cool mil off the single." Then Diddy spends the next four minutes on a garrulous speech that never seems to end. Too much Diddy, not enough Jay.
