- 1). Pull the dryer away from the wall so that the rear panel is accessible. Unplug the dryer from the wall outlet.
- 2). Remove the screws securing the rear access panel, on the bottom-left portion of the rear of the dryer. Remove the panel.
- 3). Push the idler pulley to the left, to release the tension on the belt. Unthread the belt from the pulley and motor shaft.
- 4). Disconnect the spring from the pulley, then remove the pulley.
- 5). Discard the old pulley if replacing the pulley.
- 6). Apply a small amount of lubricant to the bearings at the center of the pulley wheel if lubricating the pulley.
- 7). Connect the spring to the end of the pulley, then place the pulley onto the motor carriage pivot.
- 8). Rethread the belt onto the motor shaft and pulley in a zig-zag formation. The belt should pass under the motor shaft and over the pulley.
- 9). Replace the rear access panel of the dryer and secure it using the screws that were removed.

Plug the dryer back into the wall outlet, then push the dryer back against the wall.
