Benicio Del Toro portrays the title character in this remake of the 1941 classic horror film starring Lon Chaney Jr. The setting remains rural England in the 1890s. John Talbot (Anthony Hopkins) owns an estate there, and one of his sons is mysteriously and brutally killed.
His other son, Lawrence (Del Toro), who has been away for years, comes home and tries to figure out what happened. Lawrence visits a Gypsy camp, where he is bitten by a creature, and thereafter at the full moon he is transformed into a wolf. Other actors in the cast are Emily Blunt and Hugo Weaving.
