About a year ago I decided to a four to five miles walk 4 to 5 times a week but had a terrible problem with Shin Splints.
With the Pain I would get down the side and front of my leg I decided to look for the best shoes for shin splints although it took some time to discover what my ailment was.
Before walking I would every kind of a stretch on the foot and leg but after the first mile or so and for another mile the pain was almost unbearable and a feeling of numbness in the foot, this pain would begin to leave as I continued and eventually leave until I started again the next day.
One day while shopping in a local city I came across a sports shop and decided to check out what were the best shoes for shin splints they had in stock.
The first thing I did was to walk barefoot on a computer controlled tread mill which showed the shop attended the problem I had with my foot and so he was able to make an informed decision as to what was the best shoe for me.
The attended informed me I had dropped arches and this could the cause of the shin splints pain He also enquired if I had back problems as dropped arches and walking in the incorrect shoes can lead to back problems which I had.
He recommended a pair of shoes called Asics which I purchased.
This was the first time I heard of Asics shoes and was looking forward to my first walk with them.
A few days after breaking in the shoes I went for my first four mile walk with the Asics shoes and no pain what so ever and not only no pain but I found I was walking much straighter and felt better walking.
Several months later the pain is totally gone and I now enjoy walking.
In conclusion the best shoe for shin splints that I would recommend has to be Ascis Shoes...
