Birthday Invitation Ideas for Preschoolers

    Royal Invitations

    • Let preschool-aged guests know that the party will be for all the little princes and princesses in the land with a scroll fit for royalty. Use a calligraphy pen on cream colored paper to write out the fancy party details. Use fancy language that preschoolers will love to hear read to them, such as, "Princess Stephanie invites you to her palace for a royal celebration on May the 16th at half past two." Allow your preschooler to sign each royal invitation. To make it extra fancy, spray the paper with perfume and add just tiny dabs of glitter glue. When the invitations are dry, roll them up and tie them with satin ribbon.

    Super Sports

    • There will be no mistake about the party theme when preschool kids receive party details on little foam sports balls. Beanbag sports balls would also work as invitations. Pick up foam footballs, baseballs or basketballs at a dollar store and write the party details directly on the ball, using a permanent black pen. Don't forget to let your preschooler sign each ball. This invitation idea can also be extended to other types of sports, such as plastic golf clubs for a miniature golf party, an inflated beach ball for a swimming party or a toy car for a NASCAR party.

    Stamped Invitations

    • Get your own preschooler in on the invitation making by providing a variety of stamps and inks. Purchase blank cards with envelopes, then write in the relevant information. Then, let your preschooler customize each invitation using stamps, stickers and colored pencils. Party guests will immediately know that their one-of-a-kind invitation was made by their friend and will feel special upon receiving an invite. You can purchase commercial stamps or make your own stamps out of a potato, sponges or simple household objects.
