- 1). Open the battery compartment on the side of the camera and remove the batteries. Camera batteries use up a lot of juice quickly, so if the battery is running low your camera can shut down. Replacing the batteries corrects the problem.
- 2). Inspect the lens of the Olympus camera under bright light to determine if dust or dirt is stuck to the lens.
- 3). Remove the debris on the lens with a soft cotton cloth or lens cloth (eyeglass cloth is perfectly fine). The dust can appear as large spots on your image when taking pictures.
- 4). Power on the camera and select the "Playback" option. Delete the pictures you don't want. When your camera's memory card is full you can't store any more images, so taking pictures with the camera won't work. Freeing up space on the memory card is the only way to fix the issue other than using a totally new memory card.
