- 1). Begin your citation with the last name of the author, followed by the author's first initial. For example:
Smith, J. - 2). List the year, month and day of publication. This should appear in parentheses and followed by a period. For example:
(2010, June 1). - 3). List the title of the article, followed by a period. Capitalize only the first letter of the title; you should also capitalize any proper nouns that appear in the title. For example:

2290-2299. - 6). Conclude your citation with the date on which you accessed the article, and the name of the database. This should appear in the following format:
