- 1). Select the photo or magazine clipping you would like to preserve and wear. The size should match the size and shape of your Memory Glass. Once selected, place the picture between two pieces of Memory Glass.
- 2). Apply copper foil tape around the outside edges of your Memory Glass. Use a burnishing tool to smooth all the edges. Pay extra attention to the corners. A flat surface will help the solder flow evenly over your project.
- 3). Heat up the soldering iron. This should take just a few minutes. Always wear safety glasses when soldering. Apply flux, with a brush, to all the copper foil tape. Don't worry about any excess that may drip on the glass; it will wash off.
- 4). Using a basic soldering technique, solder around all edges of the Memory Glass. The solder should flow evenly to create a silver border. Place the piece in a holding rack or lay it flat until it is cool.
- 5). Wipe off any excess flux with water. Apply car wax to the soldered edges. Wait a few minutes and wipe the wax off with a towel. The silver should have a polished look. Your photo piece is now sealed and ready to wear. Solder a jump ring to the top to create a beautiful pendant, and wear it with your favorite chain.
