Things You'll Need
Step 1:
Decide on a method for your poster production. If you want to create it manually, purchase poster board and permanent markers, and plan to print out photos to glue onto the poster. If you go the digital route, you can do all of the graphics on your computer with a program like Adobe Photoshop and send the content to a company that can do large-scale printing jobs.
Step 2:
Center the name of your candidate on the poster, and make sure to feature it largely and boldly. This is the most important bit of information you want to convey. Include the date of the upcoming election, since your primary goal is to motivate people to flock to the polls and cast their vote for your candidate.
Step 3:
Write a catchy slogan that will be easily remembered by voters. You want to give them a snappy and compelling reason to remember the featured candidate, and you want them to be swayed by the marketing message. Your job is to sell the idea of your candidate's set of qualifications; make potential voters believe it would be irresponsible to elect anyone else.
Step 4:
Design your poster with bold colors, or black lettering against a white or yellow background for optimal visibility. The more eye-catching your poster, the more effective it will be at rooting itself in the memory of viewers. Once you have decided on a bold and clean color scheme, in addition to the essential information, you have completed your task. A cluttered poster which holds too much content and too many colors will only look gaudy and unprofessional. You want to convey maturity, composure and class in any advertising associated with your candidate.
