- Make a box to keep your needles and pins handy. Measure and cut a piece of craft foam to 2 1/4 inches wide, 3 1/2 inches long and 3/4 inch thick. Spray the craft foam with some adhesive spray on all sides and place it in the middle of a fabric rectangle. Wrap a piece of your favorite fabric around the foam and smooth the surfaces. When the adhesive is dry after four hours, put the fabric-covered foam in the Altoid tin and slide your needles and pins into the fabric.
- Snip the hinges off of an Altoid tin to separate the lid from the container. Paint the backdrop for a scene on the inside of the container and the lid with acrylic paints. You can have the two scenes be connected in a sequence to tell a story. Glue miniature items or people on the inside with a hot glue gun to be part of the scenes. For example, glue tufts of cotton to the backdrop for clouds or smoke, and fake craft moss to the bottom for grass or plants. Attach a wire where the hinges were to hang them on the wall.
- Make a portable candle in a container using old candles. Fill a medium-sized cooking pot halfway with water and put a smaller pot in the middle. Heat the cooking pot on the stove and turn it on high heat. Cut up pieces of old candles with a knife and put them in the smaller pot. Place one or two tea light candle wicks in the bottom of the Altoid tin. When all the wax has melted, carefully pour the wax into the tin to just below the inside rim. Don't disturb the wax for four hours to let it cool and harden before burning.
- Open an Altoid tin all the way so that the top of the lid and the bottom of the container are both facing up. Cut printed-out photos or images out of magazines that you want to attach to the tin surfaces. Make a collage with the cutouts or just use one image over the whole surface. Brush decoupage medium on the backs of the images or images and smooth them onto the surfaces of the lid and the bottom of the container. Gently cut the paper that hangs off of the rounded corners of the tin with scissors. Hang it up by a nail or small hook on the wall.
