How do I Create a Free Ringtone and Transfer It with a USB Cable?

    Create Ringtones Using the Website "Make Your Own"

    • 1). Go to the website Make Your Own Ringtone (see Resources).

    • 2). Click the "Upload" button, and select the file from your computer with which you want to create the ringtone.

    • 3). Wait for the website to upload the song on its system, which usually takes about a minute.

    • 4). Select a section of the song from the timeline which you want as the ring tone. Usually, each ringtone's duration is about 20 to 30 seconds.

    • 5). Click the "Selected" button to listen to the selected section of the song. If there are any adjustments to be made, you can move the sliders on the timeline.

    • 6). Click the "Make a ringtone" button. Now a pop-up window will open with a link that says, "Download Ringtone." Click this link and save the file on the desktop.

    Create Ringtones Using the Website Tonebee

    • 1). Go to the website Tonebee (see Resources).

    • 2). Click the "Join now" button and fill out the registration form to join the website. Once joined, log in to your account using your user name and password. Click the "Make Your own Ringtone" button to go to the page where you can start making the ringtone.

    • 3). Click the "Choose file" button and select a song from your computer with which you want to create the ringtone.

    • 4). Place the section markers on the timeline to select the section of the song with which the ringtone is to be made. You can click the "Play" button to listen to what the selected section sounds like.

    • 5). Click the "Create ringtone" button when you're done making the adjustments. Then click the "Download to computer" button and select a destination folder, such as desktop, for the file to save in.

    Create Rigtones Using the Website Phone Zoo

    • 1). Go to the website Phone Zoo (see Resources). Click the sign-up button, and provide all the necessary details required by the website. Log in to the website using your user name and password. Once on the website, click the "Create ringtones" button.

    • 2). Click the "Select file" button, and choose the songs from your computer with which you want to make the ringtone.

    • 3). Use the sliders on the timeline to select the portion of the song with which you have to make a ringtone. You just have to move the sliders back and forward to adjust the portion. Click the "Play" button to listen to the cropped portion of the song. If you're not satisfied with it, you can make adjustments accordingly.

    • 4). Click the "Download ringtone" button, and select "Download to computer" button.

    • 5). Select the desktop as destination folder for the ring tone. Wait for the ring tone to finish downloading.

    Transferring Ringtone to the Phone

    • 1). Connect one end of the USB data cable to the phone, while the other end to the computer's USB port.

    • 2). Go to the desktop of the computer, and click the icon of the ring tone you have downloaded. Now right-click on it, and select "Copy."

    • 3). Go to "Start" menu and click on "My Computer." Here, you'll find your phone's icon among the other external devices connected to the computer. Double-click on the phone icon to open this folder.

    • 4). Double-click the "Ringtones" icon to go to the specific folder. Right-click on this window, and select "Paste."

    • 5). Disconnect the USB connection once the transfer has been made. You can now enjoy the new ringtone on your cell phone.
