- 1). Fold the leather lace in half. Grasp the lace about 1 inch in from the fold or loop. Hold an end of the beading lace alongside the leather lace and tie the two together in a knot. The beading lace should be thinner and longer than the leather lace. This end will become the loop side of the closure.
- 2). Put the safety pin through the loop, and secure it to the knee of your pant leg so you will have resistance when stringing the beads. Separate the leather laces the width of one bead.
- 3). Loop the beading lace under and around the left-hand leather lace. Slide a bead onto the beading lace until it fits snugly with the left-hand lace. Loop the beading lace over and around the right-hand leather lace, then back through the bead. Make sure that the bead fits tightly between the laces.
- 4). Send the beading lace under and around the left-hand lace again, then add a second bead. Continue this lacing and beading pattern until the bracelet becomes the desired length. Tie off the beading lace onto the right-hand lace then tie the left and right laces together. Add the closure piece by tying it onto the end of the laces. Clip off excess lace with scissors.
