- 1). Pull the shoelaces completely out of your shoes. Working from bottom to top with the toe of the shoe facing you, put one end of the shoelace downward into the first eyelet on the right side and the other end of the shoelace downward into the first eyelet on the left side. Pull the lace tight so you have a straight line across the bottom of the shoe. Make sure the length of the lace is even on both sides.
- 2). Take the right side of the lace underneath the leather and push it up through the second eyelet on the right side. Take it straight across and put it down through the second eyelet on the left side. Pull the lace tight. Your right lace should now be on the left side, directly above the opposite end of the lace.
- 3). Pull the bottom left end of the lace up through the third eyelet on the left side. Take it straight across and push it down through the third eyelet on the right side, then pull the lace tight.
- 4). Grab the lace on the left side and pull it up through the fourth eyelet on the left side. Drag it across the tongue of the shoe and push it down through the fourth eyelet on the right side. Pull the lace tight. This lace should be directly above the the opposite end of the lace.
- 5). Pull the lower right lace up underneath the leather and up through the fifth eyelet on the right side. Pull it across the tongue and push it down through the fifth eyelet on the right side. Pull the lace tight. There should now be one lace on the right side and one on the left side.
- 6). Grab the lace on the right side and push it up through the sixth eyelet on the right side then grab the left lace and push it up through the sixth eyelet on the left side. Pull the lace tight and tie it in a bow as you normally would.
Alternatively, instead of pushing the laces through the sixth eyelets, leave them empty and shove the laces into the bottom of the shoe. This will make the shoes easy to slip on and off, but still tight enough that they don't fall off. Don't worry about tying them.
