- 1). Wear green clothing as a base for your costume. Dark green pants and a tight-fitting green shirt with long sleeves would be ideal. A green leotard and tights would also work well.
- 2). Dandelions have long leaves with jagged tooth-shaped edges. Look at images online for inspiration. Draw two large leaf shapes on green poster board and cut them out carefully. They should be approximately the length of your arm. Attach green ribbon ties to the rear of the leaves at the top and bottom with hot glue. Use these to tie one leaf to each arm, with the leaves pointing upwards.
- 3). For a petal headband, iron fusible web to yellow felt. Draw a marquise-shaped petal on the web side and cut it out. Lay the petal web-side up and place a petal-length piece of floral wire in the center. Lay a second piece of felt on top and iron the layers together. Cut around the petal shape. Repeat to make 10 to 15 petals.
- 4). Measure around your face from the top of your head to beneath your chin. Cut a length of double-fold bias tape to that length plus 10 inches. Beginning 5 inches from the end of the tape, insert petals into the fold and secure with fabric glue. Use the long ends to tie the petal headband under your chin.
- 5). Apply yellow face paint to your whole face with a soft makeup sponge. Moisten the sponge with water and dip one edge into the face paint. Smooth it over your face as a evenly as possible.
- 6). To create a seed head costume as an alternative, glue white paper craft straws to double-fold bias tape in the same way. Glue fluffy white ostrich feathers to the end of each straw.
Paint your face with white face paint.
