How to Use Your Printer for Wrapping Paper

Make Wrapping Paper With Clip Art

    • 1). Open a word processing program. Start with a new or blank document. Click on the "Insert" tab.

    • 2). Click "Clip Art" from the "Insert" menu. Search for a picture to match your theme. Type your theme as a keyword into the Search For box and click "Go," or search in different collections. For example, if you are looking for a Christmas theme, type the word "Christmas" into the search box. You are shown a variety of Christmas clip art options, such as Santa Claus, a Christmas stocking, trees, ornaments and wreaths. Choose at least one piece of clip art.

    • 3). Right-click on the image to pull up a new menu. Click "Insert." Your picture is inserted onto the blank page.

    • 4). Right-click on the picture to change the size or edit the image.

    • 5). Click on the same image again, or choose another piece of clip art. Drag and drop the image to another place on the blank document. Format the size by right-clicking on the image. Repeat until you fill the page with images.

    • 6). Save the document to your computer or a flash drive.

    • 7). Print several copies of your document on a color printer. Check your printer's specific manual for necessary settings. For example, if you choose a glossy printer paper, you may need to adjust your print settings.

    • 8). Attach the printed sheets of paper together with clear tape to create the gift wrap.

    Photo Wrapping Paper

    • 1). Scan a photo, drawing or other image into your computer.

    • 2). Open the photo or other image. Use it alone, or arrange it with multiple images in a word processing or multimedia program.

    • 3). Print several pages of the photo or images. Consult your printer's manual for important printer settings.

    • 4). Attach the printed papers together with clear tape to form the gift wrap.
