- 1). Measure a 30-inch strand of hemp and a 60-inch strand of hemp. Fold each strand of hemp in half. Place the two midpoints together and tie them so that a loop about 1/4 inch protrudes from one end of the tied knot.
- 2). Tape the loop securely to a board, wall or the back of a chair. There should be four strands of hemp, two from each strand previously folded in half.
- 3). Interlace the outside right strand under the middle two strands of the hemp. Bring the right strand up through the loop. Pull the ends of the outside strands taut. Continue by alternating the side from which you begin the knot.
- 4). Add a bead after every 10 knots. Add the bead to the middle two strands and secure by tying a knot snuggly to the bottom of the bead.
- 5). Place a four-holed button to the bottom of the bracelet once the bracelet is completed. Place one strand of the bracelet into each one of the holes in the button. Tie a small knot to secure the button on each strand and cut off any extra hemp.
