- 1). Delete pre-installed applications that you don't use. Applications such as VZ navigator, AIM, Yahoo!Messenger or Google talk can be deleted (if you don't use them). Doing this will ultimately increase the speed of your Storm by a large amount. You can always re-download the applications if you decide you wish to use them later, so there is never the fear of losing something and not being able to get it back if you don't currently use it.
To delete applications, you'll need to do the following. Go to "Options." Next, click on "Advanced Options." Then click on "Applications." Find the application you want to delete and highlight it. Once that is done, click on the menu button and select "Delete." - 2). Clean your home screen. Eliminating the large number of icons, folders and applications that exist here will also help to increase the speed of your Blackberry. This does not mean that you have to delete them, merely put them in separate files or folders. The way to do this is simple. You should first create a new folder to put all of the unused icons and applications in. Next, highlight and select them to move them to the folder.
For example, collect all of your text, sms and email icons into one folder, naming it whatever you desire. Keep lesser used applications in the apps folder and off of your home screen. If you don't need it at your fingertips, then it's better for it to be stored in a file. Try to keep your home screen icons to 8 or less. - 3). Uninstall languages, programs and themes you don't use. If you don't use these things, they're just sitting around collecting dust and taking up the memory inside of your phone. It's better to get rid of them and have the extra space.
