How to Make Folders on iPhone OS 4.0

    • 1). Hold your finger against any icon on your Home screen. Leave your finger there until all of the icons on the screen start to wiggle.

    • 2). Place your finger on one of the icons you would like to place in a folder. Drag that icon to another icon you would like in the folder. Place the first icon directly on top of the second icon to create a folder. The new folder will automatically open at the bottom of the screen and will contain the two icons that are now in the folder. Your iPhone will automatically name the folder according to the icons you've placed inside of it.

    • 3). Drag other icons over to the folder and drop them on top of the folder to place them inside.

    • 4). Press the "Home" button at the bottom of your phone to stop the icons from wiggling and set all icons in place.

    • 5). Tap the folder to open it. Tap the "X" to the right of the name at the top of the folder to clear the name. Use the on-screen keyboard to supply a new name.
