- 1). Download iTunes if it's not yet on your computer. Transfer all of your digital video files onto iTunes' Library. To find a specific video in iTunes, click on "Movies" in the left hand column and scroll through the Library. Use the white USB cable that came with your iPod to plug the device into your computer. iTunes will automatically recognize the device, and an iPod icon will show up in the left hand column. Click once on the iPod icon to see a screen showing how much storage space is available on the device.
- 2). Click on the title you want to put onto your iPod, and drag it onto the iPod icon. Depending on the size of the file, it may take a few minutes to transfer. If you don't have enough storage space for a particularly large video, a pop-up screen will alert you. Remove old files from your iPod by going into the iPod's library and clicking on a title once, and hitting the "Delete" key on your keyboard. Do not unplug an iPod from your computer until the file transfer is completed. Look at the top display of iTunes to see how much longer you have for a transfer.
- 3). Eject the iPod from your computer once you finish putting all desired video files onto the device. To the right of the iPod icon, click the round "Eject" button. After a few seconds, the iPod icon will disappear from iTunes and your iPod's screen will light up with a display message reading "Ok to disconnect." You may now safely remove the USB from the iPod and computer. Check your iPod's video library to make sure the transfer was successful, and remember to plug in headphones to hear the audio.
