How to Re-Install Sound Devices for Microsoft Windows XP

    • 1). Navigate to the audio device manufacturer's website to download the necessary audio driver. Most computers come with a driver and software CD that is specific to your make and model. This CD is used to install drivers, such as those for audio devices, if your system malfunctions. If you have this installer CD, you may install the driver from here.

    • 2). Download the necessary device driver from the manufacturer’s website. After clicking “Download” the program will automatically run. If the device driver doesn’t automatically run, locate the .exe file in your “Downloads” on your computer and manually double-click it to run.

    • 3). Follow the steps in the installation process and click “Finish” when you are done.
