How to Enable AutoRun for CDs in Windows & Mac

    PC Instructions

    • 1). Open the Start menu and click on the "My Computer" icon.

    • 2). Right-click on the icon of your CD drive and select "Properties."

    • 3). Go to the AutoPlay tab at the top of the window.

    • 4). Select a type of CD from the drop-down menu and then pick an action to assign to that type of disk.

    • 5). Repeat Step 4 for each of the CD types in the drop-down menu.

    • 6). Click "OK" to save the AutoPlay settings.

    Mac Instructions

    • 1). Open System Preferences by clicking on the "Dock" icon.

    • 2). Go to the CDs & DVDs control panel underneath the Hardware heading.

    • 3). Select an action from the drop-down menu next to "When you open a music CD." Now when you insert a CD with music on it, your Mac will automatically run the action you chose.

    • 4). Select an action from the drop-down menu next to "When you open a picture CD." Now when you insert a CD with image files on it, your Mac will automatically run the action you chose.
