How to Manually Start Task Manager

    Keyboard Controls

    • 1). Press and hold "Ctrl," "Alt" and "Delete." The Task Manager window should open.

    • 2). Right click the clock on your system tray. Click "Task Manager" on the pop-up menu.

    • 3). Press and hold "Ctrl," "Shift" and "Esc" to open Task Manager.

    Windows Registry Program

    • 1). Click "Start" and then "Run..."

    • 2). Enter "regedit" in the "Open" box in the "Run" window.

    • 3). Click the expansion icon (a plus sign) next to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER." Click the expansion icon next to "Software." Click the expansion icon next to "Microsoft." Expand "Windows," "CurrentVersion," "Policies" and then "System."

    • 4). Right click the "Disable TaskMgr" icon. Click "Delete" on the pop-up menu. Confirm that you would like to delete the item.

    • 5). Turn off and restart your computer. Your Task Manager program should be available.
