- 1). Find your online state DMV website. Onlinedmv.com is a website where you can easily look up the DMV offices in your state. Go to Onlinedmv.com, and either select your state in the "Search DMV By State" menu at the top right of the web page, or select your state from the list in the middle column. On the information page that displays, look for an online services or forms link (different states have different search categories). If your state doesn't offer driving records online, finds its contact information (such as phone number or address) also listed on this site, and call, write a letter or fax them an inquiry on how to obtain online driving records.
- 2). Contact a local DMV office. If it doesn't appear your state offers driving records online, contact a local DMV office, and ask if you can purchase your driving record online. Some DMV offices may provide this service (even if its website does not advertise it).
- 3). Use an online vendor. Various online vendors specialize in online purchases of records, such as driver's histories. For example, go to References-etc.com, click on "Driving Records" on the main page, click the "Order Driving Records Online" link in the "Highlights" box on the right side of the webpage and follow the instructions.
