Offline Password Recovery

    • 1). Search your computer using the "Find" feature located in your start menu, if you know you've saved your passwords in a list but can't find the list. "Find" will search through your entire computer until it finds the list that you need.

    • 2). Open your computer based email program, like Outlook. This program stores messages offline. Search through those messages until you find confirmation emails or other documents that tell you what passwords you set for specific things.

    • 3). Run a password recovery program, such as those listed in references. Your Internet Service Provider will have others that you can download and use. These programs scan your hard drive and look for keystroke reminders to help you recover passwords, and can even be used when you are offline.
